          "Mihai Viteazul" Gendarme School is a school of the Romanian Gendarmerie and it was opened in November 2002. It is the fruit of a French and Romanian cooperation which started in 1999. This school has a regional vocation and its modern endowment makes it an outstanding training institution in Europe.
          The school provides basic training of the gendarme officers who graduated "Al. I. Cuza" Police Academy, and of those who were hired from external source. The later attend this school courses only after being hired as gendarmes.
          It also organizes, in close cooperation with the French Gendarmerie, The International Senior Officer Coursewhich deals with the staff training of officers from gendarmerie or police structures with military statute, belonging to European countries.
